Album Notes

Striking female fronted electro pop with gorgeous melodies and powerful hooks. Add hints of strong ethereal vocals and modern synths with a 80's new wave influences. This stunning band features vocals by Lin Chen and programming by Lee Ryan with production by Ryan Coseboom of Halou (formerly of Nettwerk Records). For fans of Delerium, octeau Twins, Portishead, Claire Voyant, Assemblage 23, Curve, VNV Nation and Iris.

"This is upbeat, female vox-lead, synthpop music that seems destined for club play. At least "Escaping Light" and "Hypocrite" seem well-suited for that setting. Both "Megaphone" and "Artifact" are excellent, very impressive slow/mid-tempo tracks. Musically, "Repeat Defeat" is perfect. I love the melody. This is a very impressive demo. Very much worth your time and attention!

"Electro-pop that gives you clues about what happened to all those New Wave records from the ‘80’s. "Escaping Light" starts off slowly building into a crescendo of blips and bleeps with trip-hop downtempo beats on "You Are My Megaphone". But then the club floor ignites with the beat-heavy EBM flavor of the title track and things really take off from there. The melodies are rich and conducive to sing-a-longs; their vocalist has a beautiful voice that is ethereal and reminds me of some of the other female vocalists that Delerium has employed on their stellar superstar hits in the past. All of this wrapped in a New Order outer shell that will give a grin to any post-modern neo-Reaganite trapped listening to other bands bastardizing New Wave."

"This electronic duo from San Francisco, consisting of Ryan Coseboom and Rebecca Coseboom, presents a fine disc with smooth intelligent synthpop/electro. Both members are also part of Halou, Invisible Ballet is a side project. The album is filled with either dreamy songs or uptempo danceble tracks. Triphop influences are present on most of the album, making a comparison with Portishead very credible. This is very relaxing music, further enhanced by Rebecca's delightful voice. After the soothing opener "You are my megaphone" the tempo goes up to provide us with the catchy title track. On "Artifact" Rebecca's sensitive voice is on the forefront, supported by the from time to time quirky synths. "Moth" is a darker affair, it produces a dreamy, foggy ambience. In my opinion the album's best song"

A River Of Love, Spirituality And Expression!
author: Salvatore Mono
Here the floating voice give to the music a kind of instability reminding to the Heisenberg's Indetermination Principle. This is the proof that we cannot look into an event without changing his nature. The music, even if it has solid beats and apparently solid tones, is subject to the same effect. No determination, all the musical material become invisible. The inflexions of the voice are sincere and always finalized to express something concerning the particular meaning of the sentence or the word they belong to. This is a river of love, spirituality and expression!

A a synth-pop/80's delight!!!

I need to make a correction to my first review. The artist given credit as the singer on this album is, "Lin Chen” this is a guise that Rebecca Coseboom of "Halou" uses. "I-Li Chang" is the singer of "Bloodwire". All artist above have great music. Check’em out. Sorry for the mis-info!!!

A a synth-pop/80's delight!!!

All I can say the Album is excellent!!! There are no filler tracks here. This album is for those massive sythnpop/80's fans. There is some killer dance tunes on this beauty of an album. One of the big highlights on the album for me is the fact that the beautiful and talent Rebecca Coseboom of Halou sings all of the tracks. For whatever reason she is given no credit, unless she has an alias of Lin Chen. I was under the impression that Lin Chen was from Bloodwire, also another great album sold on this site. There is not one bad track on the album. One of the standout tracks for me, is Autumn Earth. This is a kick-butt dance track. Check out this album and other Halou releases, you won't be disappointed
