Album Notes

Invisible Horizon: A seamless meeting of musical elements, a place where three become one.

The “Good Feeling” is in! Invisible Horizon, the second CD from Bennett Paster, Gregory Ryan and Keith Hall emphatically proves it. Recorded in May 2006, this new release showcases the continuing development of one of New York City’s most original jazz piano trios. These guys swing with a natural authority, but their influences display a comfortable diversity. In their insightful, melodic original compositions, Paster, Ryan and Hall incorporate R&B, funk and Latin grooves fluently. Plus, they've included three arrangements of standards: classic favorites "Sweet and Lovely," and "East of the Sun” and Cole Porter’s seldom heard gem "Everything I Love.” True to form, this recording features clarion sonic-fidelity, inspired performances and grooves guaranteed to make you feel good. Renowned tenor saxophonist Chris Cheek contributes his unique lyricism to three tracks.
