Unconventional pop excursions to the heart and mind, sometimes twisted, sometimes deeply emotional.

notes

"Ira Ingber's debut album isn't really his debut album. The "Man-Behind-The-Curtain" for artists such as Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, Van Dyke Parks, and... "your name here" emerges as singer/songwriter in his own right, in this CD that touches, consoles, entertains and provokes with his own tunesmithery and production. Astonishing arrangements make this one a companion piece with new discoveries in each listening. Three Thumbs Up--and yes, well worth the wait." -Van Dyke Parks

  • ~~FABulous!~~
    author: Waldo

I absolutely love it! This masterpiece, (and a cup of coffee) are a great way to start my workday! A little late for a "review"; everyone else here has spoken so eloquently for me. Thanks so much, Ira! Keep on Keepin' On!

Great thought out melodies that are memorable, interesting lyrics that require thinking (for a change in this or any era), incredible tasty guitar playing throughout, brilliant musical arrangements that continually draw attention sounding so fresh, brilliant production ideas with so many tasty events, all leading to total ear candy!!!

  • It's all here...
    author: Rob L

Listen to the first 2 songs and your mind will be blown. Not to mention your heart. The range exposed in the first 6 minutes is staggering. In just the first song there are so many clever references, sonic twists, cultural touchpoints, you will know you are on a journey with a wise and magic-endowed guide that will keep you dazzled. And then, Track 2 is one of the deepest saddest and most drop dead beautiful songs you will EVER hear. I don't care if you're a Dylan guy, a Peter Gabriel guy, A beatles freak, California folkpopper, Zappa mindfucker, Steely Dan, Little Feat.....on and on...IT's ALL HERE FOR YOU. AND then there's the rest of the album, that keeps giving and surprising. HOLY SHIT.

  • Who let this guy loose with Protools?
    author: George Kahn

How to sum up this CD? If you are wondering whatever happened to Peter Gabriel, perhaps he learned how to play guitar and became Ira Ingber. Or perhaps not. This is one great sonic tour-de-force. bravo, Ira!

Superb songwriting. Marvelous musicianship. Lyrics filled with intelligence, heart, and wit. Stunning sound quality. A remarkably good album, that was done with talent, skill, love, and care. Something that one would expect from an artist of such gifted caliber.

  • Music with heart that assumes people also have a functioning brain...
    author: Rover

Majestic yet intimate, sophisticated yet accessible, this beautifully crafted album has heart, while assuming people also have a functioning brain. Ira takes listeners on an amazing musical voyage; boldy going into new sonic frontiers as he explores the inner regions of human emotions. Here Is Where everyone should be!

  • Long awaited release of delicious delight
    author: The General

Mr. Ingber, "The Colonel" as he is affectionately referred to by his WWII buddies - has produced an album with beautiful melodies and superb sounds. The lyrics are deep man, and funny too, and the interesting arrangements are like following a bad map on The Big Island - "Where are we going? Who cares it's wonderful here." - and that's what makes the songs so cool. They're different! What a concept. And some are even a little commercial -Shhhh - but all are lovely. If you like sultry slide guitar, there is no one better at it. I heard a rumour that he has his pinky finger bronzed at the Guitar Center. Check it out. This is one of those records you will listen to many times over, but be warned - it may never leave your CD changer. But don't be selfish - turn someone on to it. Who is that chick singer on the first song anyway?

  • Star, star, star... I wanted to give it an 8!
    author: Steve Deutsch

As sumptuous as the Chef's Choice at Commander's Palace, this cd hits your from all sides and regularly, with one delicacy after the next. The arrangements are clever and multi-coloured, and while you'd expect great guitar parts from this gun-for-hire, who'd have known he had this many great songs. Highlights for me are the tasty bass parts by Carl Sealove and Larry Taylor. My only regret would be that it didn't come with a 3D cover.

  • A magical mystery tour de force.
    author: Alan Ackoff

A magical mystery tour de force. Encompassing a diverse musical gamut from stretching from sensitive introspection to dueling Elvises... surely this album has something to delight every listener and is destined to become a classic.

  • Clearly the work of a mad scientist!
    author: George Landress

Clearly the work of a mad scientist, in the most amazing and entertaining way. Very compelling stuff! I love it!

  • Sophisticated, well-produced, intelligent music that deepens the spirit.
    author: Jack Edwards

Sophisticated, well-produced, creative arrangements. Interesting lyrics reflect a man of intellect and life experience. Melodies have a haunting, lyrical quality. Ira Ingber as song-writer, singer, musician and producer, pulls together a life-time of industry accomplishments. This won't be his last. At least one generation will resonate fully to Here is Where.

  • F...... Great!
