Jeff Irick’s long awaited follow up CD to the 2005 release ‘Ride A Pony’ is guaranteed not to disappoint. This recording reflects some of the best ideals in the Modern Folk, Singer/Songwriter Genre. ‘Survive’ contains unique melodies, rhythms and lyrics that give you an insight deep into the twists, turns, and emotions that color Jeff’s essence, but more importantly, allows you to look into your own soul.

Jeff shares his life experiences to express sometimes conflicting emotions. He brings to us the upheaval of the emotions in our daily life and the ebb and flow of joy that most of us can relate to, if we allow ourselves to look that closely at our own lives. The songs and stories that really ring true are the ones celebrating the joys, opportunities (sometimes missed) and struggles of life. At times this music feels like he is sitting in the room with you sharing his life’s stories, lost moments of time, captured in song.

Once again, he is accompanied by lead guitarist Larry Thompson, whose guitar completes the feelings of emotion set forth by the melody and lyrics. Also appearing on this CD is Steve Connelly on pedal steel and bass guitar. Steve makes the Pedal Steel ‘cry’ in its traditional way and defy tradition with an unworldly beauty.
