--- God give a gift for world one artist like her. Irma has an amazing potential. The mentors, such as Zeca Pagodinho, Oscar Castro Neves, Roberto Menescal and many others have admired her talent.
She has fantastic voice and excellent singing skills in several languages. She plays piano very well. She also composes shining precious music. She arranges the music of various kinds, her original compositions, Italian operas, Jobim's music, Napoletana, classical music, jazz tunes and others. And she succeeded in building "HER GRAND UNIVERSE" with a very distinctive style of expression.
-- Rich and warm tone wooes you into wanting to hear more and more. This album was recorded,mixed and mastered at one of top-ranking recording studios in Rio de Janeiro, by excellent engineers. You can also enjoy the MULTI-DIMENTIONAL SOUND with the quality.
Her father was an amateur singer.Her mother was a professional painter and also a professional dress designer. Her uncle is a researcher of classical music. Classical music and European culture are part of Irma's life since she was a child.
At a very early age,she noticed the worth of the art of F.Chopin, Maria Callas and Luchino Visconti and started her musical studies for learning classical piano playing and Italian opera. She was also singing in the church choir as a soloist for nine years.
She started her professional music career as a pianist and a composer at a ballet company. In parallel, she sang in some musicals acting in main roles. In a while,she was invited into a professional jazz band organized by one of the greatest vibraphonists Yoshihiko Tsuno, as a vocalist and began singing jazz. Gradually,she added fusion and Latin songs to her repertory.
She won a prize in 10th Asakusa Jazz Contest,in the jazz vocalist section. Also she passed an audition for vocalists of NHK.(Japanese National Broadcasting)
Since she had been always searching her own music,traveling,living and learning all over the world more than fourty countries.
She has travelled many paths of music - singing, playing piano, composing, arranging, writing and searching foreign cultures. She realized that " THE MEANING OF LIFE " is only way " TO KEEP RECOGNIZING YOUR SOUL and "ALWAYS TRYING TO BE YOURSELF HONESTLY."
--- And at last, she found her way, to organize her own "BOSSA NOVA"( in English, it means "a new bump", as Tom Jobim said.) And it's the begining of herself walking towards the new world of truthfulness. She found out that "colorful rhythms and harmonies of Brazilian music" and "mediterranean culture", especially Italian culture make her feeling naturally.
In 2003,a first-line Brazilian dummer and producer Teo Lima found out extraordinary talent of Irma. In 2005,he produced this first album of her, with all his might, to get abroad her music all over the world.
In 2007,Irma's song named "Per Dove?" (TRACK #14 of this album) was selected as HONORABLE MENTIONS in the World Music section, of the 11th Annual Unisong International Songwriting Contest, in the U.S.A.
Recently,she began her musical aspirations in Brazil.
--- Irma would like to give many people THE TIME TO SMILE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THEIR HEARTS, feeling the greatest love of European classical music, the Mediterranean culture, Brazil's musical identity and the way of Cariocas(residents of Rio de Janeiro), LIVING WITH CALMNESS,enthusiasm, BREATHING AND PHRASING NATURALLY.
