IRONHEAD was born of tragedy.
The band was formed in 2003 in Virginia, less than 2 years after Johnny Sikk's(who recently changed his name from Johnny Sonic after being hospitalized in Seattle)
father died in a motorcycle accident. The name is not only a tribute to his father but also to his death. It's no suprise that this power trio plays what they like to refer to as
DEATH ROCK by combing 70's punk, 80's hard rock and enough goth and grim to rot a fresh corpse.
The band cites many influences including The Dead Boys, Alice Cooper, Motley Crue,Killing Joke, Motorhead, The Sisters Of Mercy and Iggy & The Stooges just to name some.
But Ironhead are no mere cock rockers. They eat, drink and shit rock n roll. These guys and girl live in whatever dark alley they can park their van for the night so they can tour the country, wreak havoc with like-minded freaks and suck the blood out of all the generic bands that are taking up space. Ironhead's debut release, Livin' Like We Wanna Die
released on Dead City Records, finds lead man Sikk screaming about suicide and fist fights. The cover shows bassist, Angela Foxx, slashing her wrists as she hovers over a
healthy serving of cocaine. The album is 13 songs of total debauchery.
The album recently received critical aclaim in the Sept. issue of Classic Rock Magazine, who called the album "jagged, slashing, venomous motorsleaze lurking down the same dark alley as The Dead Boys, Motorhead, The Plasmatics and G.G. Allin". Ironhead has spent the past two years touring in the USA, without any support from a major record label, but this hasn't seemed to slow them down. They haven't just toured here in the states, they have toured in Europe twice in their short existance. They have recently decided to take a much needed break from the road to work on new material. They are relocating to Austin, TX to record their second full length cd that will be released sometime in 2007. Jagged, slashing, venomous motorsleaze.

Ironhead don't just look like your worst American nightmare, they also sound like it: jagged, slashing, venomous motorsleaze, lurking down the same dark alley where you would also find The Dead Boys, The Plasmatics, Motorhead or GG Allin

Sleazy, high energy rock and roll.
author: Gravyzine
Now this I have been looking forward to hearing for quite a while now. And it doesn’t disappoint. Sleazy, high energy rock and roll which successfully fuses the cock rock rifferama of 80s metal acts like LA Guns and Motley Crue with the energy and attitude of punk bands like the Dead Boys and the Plasmatics. ‘Broken Heart, Broken Bones’ sounds uncannily like Electric Frankenstein – not surprising given guitarist Johnny Sonics stints as stand in bass player for the Electroid ones, while ‘Ironhead’ sounds has elements of AC/DC’S ‘Bad Boy Boogie’ about it. If that’s the kind of rock and Roll that floats your boat then you need to buy this album. Pure Punk Rock n Roll without the pretensions. Highly recommended.

This band has got the punk/glam thing nailed.
author: Glitter Gutter Magazine
The cd starts out by biting you in ass with She’s so Evil. Ironhead’s punk/glam blend is a refreshing listen throughout the entire cd. By refreshing I mean, this is definitely NOT average rock radio stuff kids. If you are looking for a cuddly happy cd, you have come to the wrong place.
Remember when Punk was dangerous and would scare the shit out of your parents enough so to possibly send you to Rehab or the Psych ward? Well this is the soundtrack to that vibe. The entire cd rocks. From She’s So Evil to Crying Shame and everything in between.
Sex, Blood and Rock and Roll is the moniker, and this band has got the punk/glam thing nailed right to your bedroom wall without cleaning up the bloody mess. Be careful, this in a dangerous band, they can bring out the hoodlum in even the best of us
