Irrational Exuberance - guitar-centric melodic rock, with lyrics both irreverent and poignant - has released it's debut CD, "Spin the Moon." This power pop/alternative rock trio displays its wide range of musical influences in the SpinJen Productions labeled disc of eleven original tunes released in April 2002.
From the opening tune "Where's Your Halo?" to the acoustic whimsical closer "Earl," Irrational Exuberance displays both their musical chops and a distaste for taking anything too seriously, least of all themselves. Influenced by such diverse rock acts as Yes, John Mellencamp, Rush, Too Much Joy and The Toll, "Spin the Moon" musically covers much ground - in an irrationally exuberant sort of way.
"Spin the Moon" showcases the guitar talents of Quint Piekney, who also provides the majority of the vocals for the project, most of the engineering work for the CD, and a substantial amount of the band's exuberance. Dave Poole supplies the drumming and keyboard work and additional vocals, and acts as the primary producer for this project. Tom Roberts anchors the low end with his bass work, and provides lead vocals for the "attitude rock" tune "Kick."

Great harmonies and instrumental work
author: Wendy K
Love it! Very cool stuff! Love the harmonies. Nicely mixed, too. Very cool instrumental work. I'm very much enjoying listening to this! I've been hooked up to Abandoned Pools for the past few weeks; this is a nice segue to something different and yet the same clever and diverse kind of stuff going on.
