Who are these guys? I thought talent lke this only existed within the confines of the golden state, between the I-5 corridor up to the Highwway 101 interchange. New Mexico, for all I knew, only consisted of some pretty distinct cuisine and some gorgeous scenery and all of that came with a healthy dose of southwest-mexicano flavored music. But then, I got to listening to the Rane Brothers and wow ..... they knocked my socks off, that is whenever I do wear socks. I live on the west coast you see. Their music and songs sent me on several beautifully meandering journeys. One minute I was grooving in Rio to the Brazil flavored track, Bossa Me. Another track, I'm falling in love all over again with my lady of 21 years after the creamy, dreamy tune, Sweet Heartache. This kind of sensitive, yet polished produced music deserves recognition. It's obvious these chaps have paid their dues to the dues god and with consistently well written material, excellent vocals and fine musicianship, it seems like the next step for the Rane Brothers would be prime time, like the New Port Jazz Festival, or Monterey Jazz Fest. Bravo y bennissimo !! ......... two thumbs up !!

This Album Takes a lot of twists and turns.The song Chocolate' is really fun with a Micheal Franks feel.a great cd to pop in the car and sound track your life. The song Blame is a cool kool! mix of musical ideas, Winton Marsalis would hate it.The album ends with a hot track "Follow The Rain", That has a Earl klugh Vibe.I think this cd is the Rane Brothers strongest effort to date.
