This cd was inspired by my three kids and recorded for the purpose of bedtime and "car music" while I was away or working at night in New York. Playing the role of "Jean Valjean" in Broadway's "Les Miserables" over the past 10 years, has taken me away from home on more than one occasion ... sometimes for extended periods of time. My kids and I are extremely close and bedtime songs are always a part of the bedtime routine. I, (and my children) found these songs interesting enough to record for other parents and their children to enjoy. Singing on Broadway was fantastic! Singing to my children is priceless.

    IvanRutherford's beautiful voice, passion and devotion to his art and his children shine through in this lovely CD. Our children are older now, but we got the CD so we could hear his voice again. He loved him as Valjean in Sacramento and look forward to hearing him again in person, but until then we can listen to his voice here at home.

    I was actually exposed to Ivan Rutherford through the Frankenstein Musical Concept Album that went around for awhile. I was so impressed by how clear and crisp his voice was. Needless to say when I heard he had made a personal CD I just had to check it out. The music is absolutely beautiful, soothing, and powerful. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes a good easy listening CD as well as those who, like me, are Broadway Musical fanatics.

    How excited I was to finally find a recording of Ivan Rutherford's voice! I've been captivated by his voice for years and this CD did not disappoint! My 7 month old son loves the music also. I play it in the car and it completely soothes him. The songs range from silly to dramatic and each is sung to perfection. This is a wonderful CD for anyone who has or is a parent. I know we will be listening to it and enjoying it for years to come.

    Ivan was my voice teacher for a couple years. When he gave me his cd after one of my lessons, I couldn't wait to listen to it. Whenever I am in a bad mood or miss Ivan, I put on his cd. He has such an amazing voice and 3 great kids.

    This is a great album. Mr Rutherford's animated and tender delivery makes you want to be one of the children on the receiving end of these beautiful stories. He wraps his exquisite tenor voice around not only the melody but the heart of these songs and each one who listens to them. A must have for anyone who has small children or remembers being one.

    The combination of a magnificent voice, incredible selection of music and sensational arrangements and accompanyment make this a MUST for any new (or old) parents. Give it for a baby shower or a 50th anniversary. Savor the lyrics and the music. Will touch everyone.
