We have been playing music together and touring for over 11 years. After being asked many times if there is an album with us both on it, we realized we had never even recorded together! We are very excited to finally have this 'live off the floor' recording to share with everyone. It's just a little piece of what we like to do in our live shows, and we hope you enjoy it. We'd like to give a huge Thankyou to Wynn Gogol, Ryan MacDonald, Roberta Rowbottom, Pedro Hernandez, Erin Ronningen. Without your love, support, skills and amazing generosity, this project would not be possible. Also, a huge Thanks to everyone who has come out to support us at our live shows over the years! This is for you! --Ivonne & Jeremy

Ivonne Hernandez:
Some people are born to play music. By the age of three, Ivonne Hernandez was playing violin by ear, everything from her mother’s favourite Maritime reels to her father’s Chilean folk music roots. A child prodigy, she soon was playing guitar, piano, cello, flute, and percussion before joining Dan Lapp’s BC Fiddle Orchestra. While still in her pre-teens, Ivonne played on the Orchestra’s Fiddleharmonic CD and before 60,000 at a Commonwealth Games performance with the Crash Test Dummies.
At 13, Ivonne was the youngest member of the Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra and formed Fiddlemania, a dual-violin band with her younger sister, Kalissa. She was the Merritt Old Time Fiddlers’ Provincial Champion for two years running before becoming a judge at the event as a 15 year old. Ivonne is the reigning 5 time Grand North American Fiddle Champion, and has performed with or opened for Alan Jackson, Gloria Estefan, Jann Arden, Oscar Lopez, Natalie MacMaster, Earth Wind and Fire, Steve Winwood, Burt Bacharach, Juan Louis Guerra, Rosa Pasos, Ben Hepner and legendary film composer Howard Shore.
The young musician has been featured on television and radio, at folk music and fiddle festivals around the world, and played for the Governor General of Canada. Her debut recording, Playing With Fire, garnered critical raves, and in 2006 Ivonne released In Time (Warner Music Canada).
Ivonne Hernandez has mastered Canada’s traditional fiddle music. She embodies the country’s 21st century multiculturalism, and her music reflects the new century’s marriage of cultural influences. The young fiddler transforms her folk music roots into an exciting and dynamic new form. Looking for something new in folk music? This is it!
Jeremy Walsh:
Jeremy Walsh joined the seminal Canadian celtic band Scruj Macduhk in 1998 and for over two years contributed his powerful, expressive vocals and multi-instrumentalist talents to the bands energetic shows. These included performances at The Edmonton Folk Festival, La Festivale Internationale de Louisianne and an opening spot for Great Big Sea at The Pan American Games in Winnipeg in front of a crowd of 40,000.
During his tenure with Macduhk, Walsh began to establish himself as a skilled writer of original material and was recognized by Winnipeg Folk Festival founder and folk music impresario/historian Mitch Podolak as "one of the finest Canadian folk singer/songwriters of his generation". Two of Walsh's songs appeared on Macduhk's Juno Award nominated album 'Road to Canso', which won Best Roots Album and Best Independent Album at the Canadian Prairie Music Awards in 2000.
After leaving Macduhk, Walsh has performed throughout North America playing in dozens of venues working both as solo performer and leader of the eclectic Celtic / Folk Fusion / World Beat unit, The Jeremy Walsh Band.
In 2002, Walsh released 'Jeremy Walsh, Self-Titled Debut', a collection of traditional and self-penned material co-produced by Hugh McMillan from Spirit of the West. Jeremy released his next album "33", in 2006. It comprises all original material and was co-produced by Mick Glossop(Van Morrison, Frank Zappa, The Waterboys) and Joby Baker(The Bills, Mae Moore and The Marc Atkinson Trio). It also features guest appearances from musicians such as Trish Klein ( Be Good Tanyas, Po Girl), Jeremy Fisher, Sabrina Kufner and Rick May.
The music might be best described as groove-driven folk laced with echoes of pop, rock, country and traditional music. Walsh delivers every song with conviction, honesty and a unique musical personality stemming from a wealth of diverse musical and life experience.
