Album Notes

"90 minutes and 28 tracks, all conceived with pure inspiration, from writing to the arrangements, performance and production. This quintet (occasionally augmented by a violinist) touches on folk, psychedelia, new age, blues, jazz, and classical. They're masters of both acoustic and electric instruments. Their guitar work is superb. They can be funny, melancholy, or put across tons of emotion on their instrumentals, both of the lushly complex and stripped down variety." - Option Magazine

I actually remember the first time I ever heard "The Pier" on Madison radio Z104... it was late at night, and it was on a program showcasing local music. I didn't live in Madison and was only 15, so I was not able to "run right out the next morning" to buy it, but I picked up the cassette at B-Sides record store on State Street within a month or so of first hearing it. I can't think of anything to say about this album in terms of "If you like such-and-such, you'll love Ivory Library!" but words cannot described how happy I am that I can finally listen to this album again-- I've still got the original cassette, but it's worn out and distorted.
