Album Notes

Hello!:

The Eterno CD is new to the point where we haven't gotten any reviews yet. We feel that "Eterno" evokes more passion then our first CD "IvoryWinds". With Eterno, we take more risks, as musicians, as we encourage each other to stretch beyond our 'comfort zones'.

We invite you to take a listen for yourself...

In the meantime, here's a review of the first CD "IvoryWinds" also available at CDBaby or Amazon.com:

Emotionally-charged with roots in both classical and contemporary music, Ivory Winds delivers a seamless combination of piano, flute and saxophone.

The delicate intricacies of Jack Scannell's flute zip in and out of songs like "Symphonic #1" and "Coastal Winds," depicting a picture of serenity, painted by a flute with wings. Framed nicely by Forrest Paul's deft fingers on the keyboard, it is hard to imagine such a full, rich sound coming from so few instruments.

It would be far too easy to call this recording a "reflection of nature." For while it does lend itself to visions of coastal breezes and forest streams lined with colorful birds, there is nothing in nature as sultry as the aptly-titled track, "Blues For Lovers."
For fans of background music, Ivory Winds is the perfect accompaniment to a drink after a long day, a quiet afternoon alone, or a fantastic addition to a romantic dinner for two.

Ivory Winds makes its presence known without saying a word, proving that not everything from the Northwest is grunge.

Instrumental music struggles in balance. A band must take the same instruments every other band uses, and without the unique qualities a singer's voice lends, make themselves unique and heard. Music of this genre either is evocative or wallpaper/elevator. I've owned Ivory Winds first album because they are compelling in the way they craft the sound. There is nothing half committed here. Like their first album, the music not only sounds great it tells stories and those stories are your stories. So sit back and remember that sunset on that beach with that person, or let the music take you to places you will someday be. This journey enhancing music is joyful listen. The band accomplised the art in the music and the music is art.

A fine adoptation of piano and sax. It varies widely in style and there is something there for everyone. I enjoyed it in it's uniqueness.
