Album Notes

"Imagine the sunset rolled across the drum."

Artful, soulful, poised, powerful, poetic….One can use any of these words to describe this new singer who is getting attention worldwide. Hailing from New York City, this Performing Arts Graduate's blend of Dance, Soul & R&B; with hungry, haunting lyrics, has audiences clamoring for more.

Vu's new single "Do Right" will entrance you with its ethereal melodies and moving beats, which will leave you somewhere between the ocean, the streets and the dance floor. She'll take you on a journey you want to return to over and over again.

For this Upper West Side native, modeling in MTV and BET videos left her wanting more. A graduate of William Smith College, who double majored in English and Psychology and was formally trained in Drama and Voice, Vu needed an avenue of expression that more fully reflected her range of experience. An experience largely influenced by her early school years, where she had the privilege of attending an Upper East Side elementary school, which embraced people of all backgrounds. This amazing school helped shape her love of and interest in different cultures.

A published writer, reviews of Vu's work have appeared in the National Harold and Proini, as well as in various magazines. In fact, after performing her own poems at Barnes and Nobles, the Nuyorican Poet's Café and Revival, Vu started putting her poetry to music. What you get is a captivating taste of life's moments carved into sound.

Appearing on television; from PBS to British T.V., in plays; from Symphony Space to the Usdan Theatre, and in a number of independent films, Vu decided to pour her passion into a recording that would truly allow for a full range of expression. And anyone who has seen her perform at Tavern on the Green will tell you that her live shows are a display of energy, creativity, and surprise. Clubowners are scrambling to book her for shows!

When Vu sang "Wind Beneath My Wings" during an Honors ceremony at her College Graduation, she had no idea the journey she was about to embark on. It seems that now, Vu, stemming from the Ibo name Ivuoma, and meaning
"Good Fortune", is finally on her way!
