Album Notes

Singer, songwriter, musician, producer, label owner

Talking about Iwan is talking about a self made musician who started on the bass in his teens playing along with his favorite records of that time: \"Chameleon\" by Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters, \"Power to love\" by Jimi Hendrix, \"Sex Machine\" by James Brown and \"Come on Come over\" by Jaco Pastorius. After developing his bass skills Iwan hungered for more and picked up other instruments including drums, guitar, percussion, keyboards and singing. He continued his self taught approach in music and started composing in a variety of styles such as American Soul, R&B and Funk, Jamaican Reggae, Surinamese Kaseko as well as Pop and Rock.

As a bass player / singer doing gigs, local and some abroad (Belgium, Germany, Spain, Italy, Gambia, Jamaica), he found himself playing at a private party for the crew of Michael Jackson during the ‘Bad World Tour’ in Amsterdam in the late 80’s. In the 90’s he also got into studio session work, playing \'old school\' bass- and guitar grooves for urban, R&B and pop projects. In 2003 he participated in some studio session work for the German leg of the Keith Sweat Tour playing bass synthesizer.
In 2004 Iwan was a vital musician [bass & guitar] in the recordings of the CD Tim by Ilene Barnes, IC Music/Night & Day France.

Spring 2008: On his debut solo album \"Rhythm Is My Business\" which he co-produced, You can hear the multi talented Iwan play guitar, bass, keyboards, percussion and sing. All songs, except for one, are written by Iwan.
Long story short: take a listen to \"Rhythm Is My Business\" if you want to dance, love, smile and cry. Feel how good it is to Remain Human!

This album takes me to places. I hear America but also Africa and the Caribbean. Love the ballads ("you are wrong"....waw!). But if i want to boogie my songs are "is it fantasy or reality" and track 1 "the gigolo". You move me emotional and physical. Thank you IWAN!!!!
