Album Notes

Griffin Rogers is the "Looking Glass" pseudonym of Actor, writer, filmmaker Roger Griffin.

Lewis Carroll's nonsense poems have always appealed to Griffin's sense of humor. So it was that Griffin recorded "Jabberwocky" as a Christmas present for his son in 1991. Since his son was eighteen at the time and no longer interested in bedtime stories, he foisted the recording unto people he knew that had small children. Over the years since, those who have been unable to avoid encounter, have been quick to ask if he had, "recorded any more of that nonsense." Taking this as a sign, if not an outright request, Griffin spent the next several years recording nonsense whenever he was able to find an unlocked window and sneak into a recording studio.

Griffin began his career in the theater, where he worked as an actor, designer and director before seeking honest work. Finding none he was capable of, Griffin began duping unsuspecting clients and agency people into letting him produce quite a lot of nonsense for the film and video industry. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild and Theatre Building Chicago's Musical Theatre Workshop and has written the book and lyrics for three full length musicals and two One-Acts which are rarely ever produced and you have never heard the likes of. However, he was a contributing lyricist and a composer for the Michigan Department of Health's M.R. CHEP in-school health program for pre-teens where his song "The Flossing Beat" has become a successful deterrent to scores of children's dental health. Most surprising, especially to Griffin, his 1994 independent film, "Maggie's Attic" won a Silver Plaque at the Chicago Film and Video Festival.

If all this sounds like a lot of nonsense to you, you will love this CD.
