Much like their hometown hero, Gram Parsons, Jack Cadillac is an original
entity hailing from Waycross, Georgia, that draws upon a deep well of
musical influences, from rock ‘n’ roll to country and soul. Although
influential traces of Parsons are evident, Jack Cadillac cannot be labeled
as easy as that. Singer-songwriter and band visionary Sean Clark has been
compared to the likes of Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, James Brown, J.J. Cale and
Hank Williams Sr., among others. Guitarist John Pope evokes sounds of
Hendrix or early Clapton. This, along with the rhythm section comprised of
in-the-pocket playing from bassist Brandon Doty and hard-hitting drumming
courtesy of Dylan Crosby, make up what rock music lost in the 60's and 70's.
Jack Cadillac was formed in early 2002 in the top loft of Sean's then-CD
store, The Velvet Groove. The core trio—Sean, John and Brandon—played its
first official gig as a band at the Waycross Annual Gram Parsons Guitar Pull
Tribute in 2007. During that time, they gigged around with a handful of
drummers, eventually landing Dylan Crosby, a young, multi-instrumentalist
and fireball (and one of Sean's guitar students). With its forthcoming debut
CD, 2008, Jack Cadillac is poised to put the pedal to the metal and its
poetry to the pavement.

I've been following these guys for a few years. Bumbled on to them via MySpace, and was immediately blown away by the sounds. This CD is yet another step up for an already talented bunch. Great songwriting & musicianship, first-rate production, and a load of vibe add up to a great CD. I'm tickled to get hold of one.
