Into Byzantium

by Jack Cutter

Solo acoustic steel string guitar played without accompaniment or vocals. The rich tones, woven at various times from folk, classical, Hawaiian slack key and more, evoke a contemplative feeling sometimes treading towards the mystical yet accessible.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jack Cutter performs as a solo instrumental guitarist. He started after high school with a $5 banjo bought from a friend. His main instrument these days is a 6 steel-string acoustic guitar.

His influences go back to playing in bar bands in Buffalo, New York while minoring in music at University. Since then he has traversed classical, rock, folk and country with touches of ambient and Hawaiian Slack Key. He has played in groups as well as performing solo.

His compositions are played finger-style often using various altered tunings which often lend rich and exotic moods to the experience. Occasionally there may be a country-ish flat picking piece thrown in.

Jack currently resides and performs in the San Francisco Bay area.
