It is the sultry, edgy, unmistakable voice of its lead signer Jackie LaPonza that defines the group’s sound, but it is the combined charisma, talent and unforgettable live performance that sets the band JACKIE apart.
Cleveland, Ohio siblings Jackie, Matt and Mike LaPonza have been performing together since 1996. JACKIE is for fans of Evanescence, No Doubt, Pink, Paramore, Nickleback, Fly Leaf, and Green Day. While Jackie belts power ballads, Matt and Mike deliver the heavy-hitting drum sound. With accomplished guitarists’ Patrick Ols and Mike Donovan the group has found their sound: an engaging blend of alternative-rock, classic rock and dynamic melodies. Donovan brings the strong, low-end bass that builds complexity in the group’s sound while Ols’ big chords, urgent yet intricate guitar and incredible showmanship creates the group’s bigger-than-life music experience.
More than 80 regional performances a year and an ever-growing loyal audience have cemented the group as a fresh, young power rock band. So much so that in 2007, the band was signed as a Jagermeister-sponsored band. On stage, the band is amplified with energy, attitude and passion, leaving the crowd craving more. JACKIE’s explosive live performances get audiences hearts-pounding with special features: dueling drum solos, acrobatics and much more! “The stage is our home and with musical influences that span three decades, we believe our music is timeless,” Jackie comments.

Initially my first thought is to say that if you have not seen this band live the album wont sound as special as it is. Over the years Jackie's sound has developed into a sound that more expands the originality of local music more so then copy the mainstream. The harder edge and energy has been accented by the deep and talented drum duo that Mike and Matt bring. The rhythm section has no boundaries to what they can do. Is everyone really understanding the talent and diversity that this band actually has? What is the draw for the outside radio music listeners to get off there tails on a weekday night to watch a local act that plays numerous shows at numerous places? The answer is simple but sounds a little fishy. The band provides a family type atmosphere that brings the crowd to feel welcome and a part of every show. Jackie, despite her beautiful figure and tremendous stage prescence is outstanding in that she is so modest and kind to her fans. It truly is a party that fits a dying Cleveland music scene with a little glimmer of hope that maybe a band other then Mushroom Head will be able to take themselves national and even global. Jackie takes a classic girl-rock sound and makes it an accessable and easy to enjoy sound for every type of crowd and person. I have not seen a show anywhere else where a fan from another band finds themselves having so much fan watching her band's performance. What is the holdup right? The answer is to assume that people have enough sense to comprehend that if they see something special they will want to help the band's effort come to become larger then life. Obviously this is achieved by paying the money for the merchandise and music. History can be made if people will use there hard earned money to be part of the ride to success that the band will inevitably be given if in the right enviornment. They are truly deserving of whatever positive standing achievements that they recieve because they only live for the show and the music. As a musician I respect the 120%effort they give to make all of us (and soon to be fans) that they are for real and dreams can come true. Like it or not they will be sticking around no matter what curve the music world throws. Good luck guys and Jackie.
