Album Notes

Hydraulic Jack and the Lifters have been playing their blues in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area for over 10 years now. This 4th release, 'Jackism', finds them in a laid back funk groove. Funk borrowed from the New Orleans & Stax greats of the past. Tim Wicks Hammond organ playing is as good as it gets. We're not only hearing funk tho', this group swings, shuffles, cries the blues too. Jacks' (Chris Johnson/bass) lyrics are clever and memorable. Drummer, Pat Hulme contributes 2 well written tunes as well.
This recording was done 'live'. You're not going to hear many overdubs or 'fixes'. These guys don't need 'em. It sounds like you're at a good gig, the band's having fun and playing great.
