Jack McMahon is a rare treasure.
In a day when adolescent enthusiasm is too often confused with musicianship, Jack McMahon stands out as an artist of integrity. From his formative years in New York's Greenwich Village, through his early professional experiences opening for Bruce Springsteen and Steely Dan, Jack McMahon has always given music priority over image and antics.
Gifted with a wonderfully warm, resonant voice, Jack was a demo singer for Gerry Goffin (of Goffin-King fame), and other New York songwriters. After his recording contract with Columbia Records expired, Jack came to the Northwest. Since that time he has continued to thrill audiences, not only with his great voice, but with precise guitar playing and finely crafted songs as well. That's why Oregonian music critic John Wendeborn called Jack "...one of the best on the west coast...", and why The Cowboy Angels recorded Jack's song "When The Rain Came Down".
Jack McMahon is a singer/songwriter whose natural talents, seasoned skills, and professional experience combine in a wonderful synergy that delights audiences everywhere. These days that's a rare treasure. That's Jack McMahon.

Natural talent, more evident on “Toe The Line” than ever before...
author: Peter Sando (Gandalf)
Jack McMahon is a stand out in the current singer/songwriter maze, not only because he was writing and singing before most members of the current freshmen class were born, but because of his natural talent, more evident on “Toe The Line” than ever before. From the haunting heart-felt metaphors of the title track to the joyful celebration of nature in “When The Rain Came Down,” Jack displays a level of song craft that only a seasoned professional could attain. In “California Driver” he takes us along on a trip up Highway 101 and leaves us humming the catchy easy-going melody of “The Hero.” This CD is a delight from start to finish.

This is in my player all the time, great lyrics, never cloying or too sentimental but heartfelt in the best sense of the word. Wonderful voice...The song is the thing on this CD, and each cut is truly crafted. One of my very favorites CD's. Check out "When The Rain Came Down" and the title cut. You will be happy you bought this, trust me.

unique, soulful, sonorous, blue, moody...
author: Big Bobby
To begin with Jack McMahon has a great voice. I could listen to him play all night. In fact I have done just that.
This album showcases Jack's original music and his soulful delivery. There are sad and moody songs that touch my heart and light songs too. Jack is the consumate singer/songwriter he tells stories of his experience that linger like the taste of a great meal. And his voice is beautiful...I can't wait until the next album comes out.
