2008 has started off with a lot of activity for the Jacob Jeffries Band. Jacob headed west to perform at the NAMM Conference in Anaheim, CA, presented by Baldwin Pianos; he performed at BMI’s Leaf Lounge during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT; and he performed in Austin, TX at SXSW for the BMI Acoustic Brunch, and the Red Gorilla Festival.
March 19th he released his debut recording - the first of a series of 3 EP’s to be released independently over the next 6 months. The first EP – Life As An Extra is an acoustic recording. The second EP – Wonderful – is a full band recording, and the third EP is a live recording (more details coming soon!!).
Jacob Jeffries started playing the piano at the age of five. By ten he was writing original music, and at the ripe age of 17, Warner Chappell offered him a publishing deal. At 19, Jacob has spent the last year recording with Grammy Award-winning producers Sebastian Krys and Dan Warner. He is also sponsored by Baldwin Pianos.
Jacob Jeffries Band performs regularly in South Florida. Jacob is also an accomplished actor who helped write, produce, and act in original plays and musicals at the Lovewell Institute for the Creative Arts in Florida.
With echoes of everything from old blues to...Queen, his blend of smart lyrics, unpredictable musical changes, and strong vocals have amalgamated to create a unique musical brew.
Here’s what the press are saying:
“Jeffries tore through a 25-minute set of brilliant original songs, including the infectious ‘Wonderful,’ confessional ‘And I Say’ and poetic ‘Fairfax’…” - Orange County Register
“Bursting with hook-filled melodies and dramatic, instantly likable vocals, the five-song EP foretells a bright future for the piano-popster…” - City Link
…[I was] rewarded for the pleasant surprise of the music. Jeffries, who sings and plays keys, is writing piano rock that recalls the wound-up debut of another guitar-bass-and-ivories trio, the Ben Folds Five, although Jeffries' own strain of nervous energy feels less vicious and more vulnerable …”- Sun Sentinel
…”The Jacob Jeffries Band makes smart songs, but they also make songs that let you in, always inviting….the group is a Fab Four all their own” – Miami Herald
Please join us in celebrating this new artist. Have a listen and enjoy!!

I w s going to lunch at my school, and saw them outside our campus restaurant. Thought they were good, and immediately loved their music after hearing it online. Both albums are excellent. Can't stop listening, truly amazing.

The New Bob Dylan
author: Frank Severino
Caught this band in a small club in Miami. Serendipity! A lot of personality and soul all around. Great songs and superb musicianship. Visually, Jacob struck me as a young Bob Dylan. Personally, he was friendly and bohemian. His vocal hooks are smooth and soulful, though. Great big voice on this kid and a talented piano player. Though not really showcased on this album, "live" the guitarist reminds me of a young Joe Walsh who uses the whole fretboard, bassist is like somebody out of Primus and the drummer literally dwarfs his drums set. They are worth the journey to see them live (that night they also played their own funk sets which were astoundingly cool and the drummer beat the living hell out of his trap set, heheh).
Jacob Jeffries Band plays piano-organ based songs that are instantly inviting. I was immediately impressed and bought "Life as an Extra" at the show. One of my favorite "accidental" discoveries in years. Top notch.
