Album Notes

Iron Angel" had emerged from it's garage days with a successful Demo that yeilded the name change to "Jacobs Dream" as well as a record deal with "Metal Blade Records". In 2000 the bands self titled debut was released. Thus the international fan base began to grow. After a solid European Tour with "Armored Saint" and "Brain Storm" the band unleashed its second album "Theater Of War" in 2001. Shortly after a Tour in support of the new album however the bands vocalist David Taylor chose to leave the band to spend more time with his family. This proved to be a huge blow to the band and the fans. A long search for his replacement as well as a revolving door of musicians would lead the band on a four year hiatus. That was until the band finaly chose a new front man in former "Biogenesis" vocalist Chaz Bond. Outstanding album
author: Aaron Bruehl
The score would probably be closer to a five. The guitar work was outstanding and the vocals had great range. This is my first album from this group and I plan on getting others. Dominion of Darkness is one of my favorite metal cd purchases lately. Great contribution to the metal world.

A very strong offering

I would probably give it closer to a 4.5 out of 5 but this is a very enjoyable release by a very consistent band. I am somewhat new to Jacobs dream but I think each of their last three releases are top quality power metal and this one is their most aggresive and heavy to date. Opener Demon World is a extremely catchy and will likely go down as one of the best songs of the year for me. The vocalist is great, very versatile going from low, aggresive almost growled vocals, to soaring high notes. Very mature and memorable songwriting all around.
