Album Notes

Karen Jacobsen, the "Diva from Down Under" has teamed with DJ Randy Bettis and David Boyd of 'Betboyz' to take Karen's heartfelt song "Your Body Over Mine" straight to the dance floor where it always belonged. The four-track single includes three remixes and the original version from Karen’s record ‘Here In My Heart.’

Australian born and now New York based, for several years Karen played at the The Duplex piano bar in downtown Manhattan. It was a natural progression to Pride Festival Stages in Los Angeles, Ottawa, Jersey City, Delaware and at the Blue Whale on Fire Island this 4th of July weekend. As a singer/songwriter, she has shared the stage with Norah Jones, Cyndi Lauper and Deborah Cox, and sung the national anthem to capacity crowds at major sporting events from Giants Stadium to Madison Square Garden, but the genesis of her love for a dance beat lies in the infectious rhythms and melodies of the hits from Wham! back in the 1980's. She has secretly loved dance music all this time, and instead of dancing in her own kitchen, she is finally taking it to the stage.

New York based DJ/Producer Randy Bettis has a devoted following in Manhattan nightclubs. Randy has played in some of New York's most legendary night spots: Sound Factory, Limelight, Cielo, Splash, Webster Hall, Avalon-NY, Life, SPA, Centro-Fly, XL, & the Fire Island Pines Pavilion. Currently he is a resident DJ at Splash Bar in NYC, with guest residencies at Pavilion/Blue Whale in Fire Island Pines, Pure in Philadelphia & Velvet Nation in Washington, DC.

In 2001, Bettis teamed up with writer/arranger David Boyd to form BetBoyz NYC, a music/event production company and in 2002 Emerge Records honored them by choosing their very first remix, the "BetBoyz Vocal Dub" mix of Taylor Daynes' "How Many".

In 2006, Randy will take his third turn as mixmaster on Centaur’s annual Gay Days CD for Orlando Gay Day. This year, Randy will be spinning at major clubs across the US and Canada in a Gay Days promotional tour.
