Trio + 1 = Amazing
author: Enrico Scalfo

Having seeing and hearing the Jacques Pellarin Trio perform here in the Philadelphia area just a short while ago, I was amazed at their musicianship and eclectic instrumentation. The button accordion, saxophone and percussion trio surprised everyone with their lush, organic and rich (full) sound. There was no bass in the line up then and several of us mentioned how much more amazing they would sound with a bass thrown into the mix. Well, here it is, the Jacques Pellarin Quartet with electric bass. This is one of the most original and exciting recordings I have heard in a long time. My favorites are: Sup Dude Irish Diversion Stevenson Bossa Live At Champlong Squeeze Box Samba Luz y Fuerza However, I sincerely recommend purchasing the entire CD so as not to miss anything.
