A Class Act and another former Army musician still doing great things...
author: Chris Burnett, musician and composer
I had the honor of meeting Jacques Johnson, Sr. in the mid-1970s after a concert by the Army Blues Jazz Ensemble at the Armed Forces School of Music. I was a brand new Army musician back then, but went on to make a career of the service as a musician also. Jacques Johnson, Sr. was one of the first jazz artists in the military to inspire me and make me realize that there were a lot of great players in the Army that not many people ever hear about. Again, I am inspired by Jacques Johnson, Sr. as I engage my own career in the commercial music industry outside of the military music programs. Keep up the great work and many continued blessings to you and yours! A CLASS ACT!
