From backyard pool parties to college and club gigs, Jadestone is cultivating fans from their home state of Florida and beyond. Jadestone's music has been described as "transatlantic euro-pop" joining the elements of soul, r&b and rock to form a powerful sound. The seductive european voice of frontman Yves Giraud, the passionate guitar work of Gary Titi and the techno grooves of Bryan Sussman , combine to form a unique and modern statement. The music utilizes the traditional guitar, bass, drum format along with sonic-enhancing samples, sequences and loops. The band has been compared to bands such as Remy Shand, Vertical Horizon, Jamaroqui and David Gray.
Jadestone's live performances have garnered praise from both the industry and fans as they reached the semifinals of two national contests, including Bandemonium 2000 which gave them the opportunity to share the stage with Marcy Playground. Jadestone recently opened for Sheryl Crow. The band played over 120 shows last year and is currently working on extending their live show up the east coast.
Jadestone was awarded a prestigious grant from Jim Beam Distillers as part of the companies annual B.E.A.M. program. No strangers to radio, songs from the band's This is America and Transmission cd's have played on over 100 college stations across the east coast of the USA, achieving several top 30 appearances. And the bittersweet I Heard a Sound was included on a compilation CD by Oasis, which was distributed to an additional 300 radio stations nationwide. The newest release by the band, "chocolate covered strawberrries", is packed full of stylish euro-pop music. The band will be setting off on a national radio campaign to promote the single "sunday morning". Jadestone successfully composed a theme song for The Mo&Sally Show, a local radio morning program on WMBX(102.7fm). In the fall of 2001, Jadestone had their song Filthy selected to be used for department store Burdines Back to School campaign. The song was played in spots running throughout the state of Florida on numerous FM radio stations. In August 2001, the band closed a deal with Referenda Records that involves a United Kingdom distribution deal. In July 2001, the band was chosen from over 450 submissions to be part of Gold Record Music's College compilation disk which will be distributed to over 900 radio stations through the US and Canada. Jadestone keeps strong ties with several Florida radio stations and continues to expand their radioplay.
Jadestone have hooked into the internet strong as their music can be found on many sites including: MP3.com, HitMixUK, IUMA.com, Garageband.com, JavaMusic.com and many others. Jadestone had a very successful 6 week run on the Broadband(formerly Billboard) Talent Net website where they achieved a #2 ranked slot. The band also achieved a #1 ranking on MP3.com with their song Mama's Boy, along with 3 other songs in the MP3 Top40. Jadestone currently has over 125,000 plays on their MP3 site.
