Jafni could be described as a "painter of sonic sceneries" or, if you prefer, a "phonotect" (sonic architect) creating "phonotecture" ("sound buildings").
Jafni was born (on Annunciation Day in the year of Guyana's proclamation of independence), raised and still lives in 29 25 N 5 16 E.
The first nine years of his life went on quite eventless until he received a vocation from the Muses when he discovered that he was able to simulate the clamor that he heard on a phonogram which, if it had been French, would have been called "Langues d'alouettes en aspic". The people responsible for the phonogram would probably have named their group "Király Karmazsin" if they were Hungarian. After receiving this vocation, Jafni began his musical life as a membranophonist and idiophonist working for and with others, but gradually expanded his activities to involve solo performances of his sonic sceneries. Another significant source of inspiration is the work of an American with an Italian surname meaning "hoe". There have also been others who have shaped Jafni as a "sonic painter", but he owes most of his musical heritage to the aforementioned sources.
