Album Notes

UK soul singer Jag scoops American Idol Underground award for the song “Take you there”, taken from the classic debut album “Whatever it takes”

The release of a cover of the Gap Band classic “Someday”, which featured Jag and the legendary vocalist and Bollywood actor Shankar Mahadeven, took the Indian sub-continent by storm selling over 250,000 copies. Levis Jeans were so impressed with this record that they used it as an integral part of a major advertising campaign.

Since then the British public have had a chance to sample the soulful, dynamic voice of Jag on television, radio and in the live arena. Jag has continued to build a great reputation for himself supporting artists such as Joe, Kelly Price, Donell Jones and Truth Hurts to mention a few.

The forthcoming release by Jag is the soulful “Take You There”, which has already picked up play listings on some of the top US independent radio stations, including 104.7 FM the number one independent station in the United States. Jag has also received great support from UK radio stations such as BBC 1Xtra, BBC Asian network, Choice Fm and the Galaxy Network.
Take you there will be released on VME Records on March 6th 2006

Jag a class soul act
Jag is officially the first indian soul singer and proves he got soul in his soul. This album shows Jag, creating his own new sound of Soul/R&B mixed with indian instrumentation, Jag being an tabla player in all. Jag first came on the scene in 92 when initially being a tabla player for Boy George, and then releasing his debut single "who's gonna love you?" on More Protein records. This album is a must if you love nu classic soul with some a hint of indian vibe.

I'm lovin' it, Jag is fresh and cool with an amazing voice set to relatable lyrics with a smooth vibe. I've played it for my friends and they're diggin' it too.
I'm so glad I found him.

The album is great. Jag's voice is absolutely amazing ! Crisp clean music rounded off by sweet melodic soulful vocals...
He is a great talent that deserves more exposure .. The record companies should snap him up and make him a star ...

Hoping to hear more from JAG in the future ..
