Album Notes

Jag Star's first release 'The Beginning' is powerful, haunting, exotic, and unforgettable.

This brand new rock band's music combines Sarah Lewis's soft, yet powerful voice (McLachlan-esque) and Erin Tipton's spine-tingling viola with a powerhouse rhythm section of guitar, mandolin, bass, and drums.

LISTEN TO THE CRITICS! "...an overall great display of music, vocals, and talent...Lewis's voice is strong...an awesome sound that radiates throughout the album!"(Nick Tipton, Daily Beacon, Knoxville, TN), "...soaring vocals...exquisite violin...a well-produced, promising release..." (Zippy, Metropulse, Knoxville, TN), "...they forge into an ambitous realm where other rock bands fear to tread!" (M. Barber, MtnXpress, Asheville,NC), "...this is a band worth watching out for!" (B. Maultsby, Creative Loafing, Greenville, SC.

Buy Jag Star's 'The Beginning'.

It is wonderfully different, modern, eclectic, and it just plain ROCKS!

Positive forward moving rock/folk music for the 21st Century
author: Rob
This collection of songs is vibrant and positive. Whilst all the themes may not necessarily be positive, the feel and mood of this music leaves one contented. The two songs that strike out the most are Siberia and 2 O'clock in the morning. Siberia shows us a world that few bands can, its a song that captivates the listener into a fixated trance. Few bands other than Kulashaker are able to do this if any at all. Siberia evokes themes of Morrocan or Indian whirling dances, I suppose its a common thread of the asiatic continent.Perhaps thats where they got the name for the song from. 2 O'Clock in the morning moves along at a steady pace with beautiful haunting lyrics that bely some sort of impatience. The musicianship and timing throughout the album is faultless. If you want to buy something really good, buy this!! Check this band out.
