UNKNOWN BLESSINGS, Jaime Michaels’ 9th studio album is a departure for the award winning songwriter. It’s primarily an album of songs written by friends with whom he shares a love of the late night campfires and song circles at the Kerrville Folk Festival.
Proceeds from the sale of the album will be donated to the Music Camp for Teens run by the festival & the Texas Folk Music Foundation.
Jaime is backed on the album by guitarist Ben Wright and upright bass player Josh Martin with special guests including Albert & Gage, accordionist Joel Guzman, mandolin & dobro player John Egenes, banjo great Jeff Scroggins and vocalist Larkin Gayl. The album was produced by Jono Manson.
“Unknown Blessings is a heartfelt love letter to the artistsand songs that have come to define the Kerrville Folk Festival.
These 14 finely wrought tunes, two of which Michaels co-wrote, are a reminder that even in this age of hipster groove-folk and layer cake production, in the end, it’s all about the song.”
