Jai Wil, a Chicago native with a worldwide mission, has been patiently waiting to make his mark in the music industry. In 1999, he landed his first major gig, singing background for Sean “Diddy” Combs on the “Puff Daddy and the Family” tour. He had his first dose of stardom, surrounded with Bad Boy acts like Lil' Kim, Carl Thomas, Mase, and P Diddy, himself. Spending most of his musical years perfecting his craft, Jai has also taken center stage at events like "Laughing on the Lakefront", a Comedy Extravaganza at the Arie Crown Theatre, featuring Ricky Smiley, Adele Givens, Arnez J and others and performing for Project 8 & BET's Rap It Up AIDS campaign along side artists like Chingy and Ms. Prissy (from the movie "Rize"). Past experiences also include background vocals for Dave Hollister and opening for R.Kelly. Most recently Jai Wil opened for Jaguar Wright at an intimate Jazz concert in Syracuse, New York and his music was featured on the “Dan Ho Show” which aired on the Discovery Health Channel this past November (’06). His promotional tour, kicking off in February 2007 will include opening act performances in South Carolina, Houston, Chicago and Philly with Robin Thicke, Amel Larrieux and Rahiem Devine to name a few.

Growing up on the South side of Chicago, Jai has been through challenging experiences that would have made his childhood seem like a road downhill. But he used his negative surroundings as a motivational tool, “I learned at an early age what I wanted out of life, and I knew that music was going to be the key to my success.” Entering High school, he began to study music working with vocal coaches and talented music professionals. He started performing in talent contests and showcases at school and around the Midwest, placing 1st in most competitions. With numerous shows under his belt and a love for studio sessions, Jai Wil has been well groomed for this competitive and demanding business.

Excited about his recent signing in November ‘06 to Missing Link Music, a thriving publishing company with an impressive All-Star roster, Jai has recently released his debut album entitled “Impatiently Waiting” and is currently writing and producing with a number of noteworthy musicians and artists.
