    I had to hunt all over the internet to find Jake Johannsen's CDs. (Thanks, CD Baby. You were fast and incredibly fun to deal with). This has some of my favorite routines (from listening to XM Comedy 150). The best ones are about his trip to China. His timing is awesome, and his sense of humor is fantastic. You can't go wrong with this CD.

    I saw Jake at the Improv in DC and stupidly did not buy his CDs that night. I couldn't get over my regret so I bought the only CD available on CD Baby. I love it and I'm ready to buy the others but I can't find them offered anywhere! Jake has a great delivery and very funny material!!

    Pop this bad boy into the dash and try not to drive your car off the road. There's no fiberfill in this hilarious psychic travelogue. Just a lone Iowan slaying dragons in a Patagonia cowboy hat.

    Mr. Johannsen’s wry sense of humor and not quite Kafkaesque view of what the rest of us see as the ordinary world is delivered with a one-two punch in this performance. It’s hard not to find yourself thinking about “chicken donuts” when the General Tso's arrives and laughing at the very confused delivery boy. I must warn you, however, that there is one huge flaw in this CD: it’s way too short – I needed more. Kind of like Chinese food …

    We need more live recordings of Jake! I have been a fan since the early days on Letterman (way back when it was on NBC). Jake's material is great but the way he delivers it is what makes him so uniquely hilarious. Buy this CD and anything else that features Jake. And Jake, give us more!

    I'd been a casual fan of Jake since his HBO special "This'll Take About an Hour." I hadn't been aware of this November 2000 CD until 2004, so the bits of "curent events" humor struck me as dated, but the rest of the material is relatively timeless & great. His logic is very funny and he's got the timing down. "Hey, Corn!"

    I first heard Jake on XM satellite radio, and at first, his "ummms" got on my nerves a bit, but listening to my husband's giggling throughout the routine somehow cured me of it, and Jake's trip to China makes me laugh every time I hear it. I think his CD is unique in that every track maintains a high level of hilarity. Jake, put Oregon on your schedule!

    As always, Jake's material on this CD is hillarious and offbeat, with his take on relationships, the Presidency, and dogs. He even manages to throw in his Dad. Great CD, and I wish there were more.

    I've been a fan of Jake ever since I saw him with some friends at the Improv here in San Diego ten years ago. Almost blew out my spleen laughing. This CD contains some of his best material (he has so much!). My fave-- the maniac advisor. Was laughing so hard, I had a coughing fit and almost drove off the road. Witty and intelligent with a healthy dose of cynicism backed up with tales of family dysfunction. Go Jake!

    As a wannabe comic, I enjoy comedians like Jake the most. He comes up with the most hilarious 'what-ifs', while relating you the simplest of experiences! I have seen him live too and this cd does well to recapture his performance. Of course, now I'm gonna have to catch him live again to see what else he's come up with lately.

    This CD is mutually intelligent and puerile. Mixing genres, political humor and sexual frustrations into a tapestry of thoughtful pause, mumbles and blurts that border on genius, and then cross that border. My favorites were tracks 9-14 encompassing the general feelings of man and his struggles with the opposite sex. He memories of “driving with dad” and his ponderings of the exit row passengers. The CD covers just about everything, but manages to segway flawlessly from topic to topic. This often left me putting the CD on pause to try and trace the steps to determine, “How did we get from the presidential election to staring out Buddha’s bellybutton to stating “do you want to touch it?” in a singles bar”. That is the genius. Thanks Jake, I'll have another.

    My sister and I saw him live and laughed our butts off. I didn't realize this until I saw other comedians later, but this comedy is pretty clean, and yet it's so funny!

    Jake Johannsen is one of the most gifted comedians out there, and this cd is a must-have for any fan of Jake, or any fan of comedy in general. I only hope there will be more cds or dvds of his work in the future!

    This CD is a comedy album like no other. Jake Johannsen is a gem when it comes to setting and keeping the pace in a comedy world. I look forward to more CDs from Mr. Johannsen in the future. I picked up my copy at Comedy Works in Denver Colorado USA ... he even signed it. That makes it a collectors item.

    Jake is at his best again. The Chadathon piece is a little dated now, but still quite funny. Some standups should do standup forever, like George Carlin and Jake, instead of wasting away on sitcoms and being censored. And Jake if you read this, please come to Buffalo, New York. I'll drive to Cleveland to see you, but it's a bit of a haul.

    Of course, you have to be drinking beer while listening to this CD in order for it to shoot out of your nose, otherwise it won't automatically do that (that would put all the beer companies out of business). The CD quality is great and the material is as funnier than you can possibly imagine. Would really like to see more!

    This CD is filled with nonstop laughs, and is very enjoyable. I got distracted by the heavy breathing and the filler "um's" between thoughts though. Nevertheless I laughed through the whole CD! I especially enjoyed his China its - very hilarious expressin of his vacation in China. Keep 'em comming Jake!

Jake’s unique comedy style takes you on a hilarious tour of our world through the eyes and mind of Jake Johannsen. Humor alert: He can translate the simplest observation into rip-roaring comedy at the blink of an eye. Just when you think you can’t laugh any more, he’ll hit you with another knockout line that solidly rings the bell on the laugh-o-meter. If you could roll up the combined comedy talent of Bill Cosby, Monty Python, Robin Williams, Jonathan Winters, David Letterman, and the Zucker Brothers, you would find Jake Johannsen.
