Album Notes

With the release of "I Run With Scissors," Jake Kelly once again finds himself running on the fertile grounds of artistic independence.

Those that loved the "I don't care" attitude of his first two releases won't be disappointed with the axes he chooses to grind this time. Once again this cd is personal in nature, leaving one to wonder what would happen if his thoughts wandered off into the world at large.

Still, his take on life and relationships is presented with a unique voice and more aggressive guitar taking the place of smooth jazz influenced sounds of his first efforts. Somehow it works, accentuating the frustration, but never taking away from the lyrical content.

Rarely will you find someone so willing to freely express himself in the mainstream. Perhaps records like this only sprout up in those fertile green fields of independence.

Jake's CD - I Run With Scissors - is so wonderful.  He reminds me of Bob Dylan.  Not only is he a famtastic singer, guitar player, but he's quite a CD graphic comedian as well.  I really would love to have a pair of those very, very large scissors.

An excellent addition to any music lover's collection.

Jake Kelly's "I Run With Scissors" cd is an excellent addition to any music lovers collection. Mr. Kelly's lyrics are real, raw, and honest which is a welcome reprieve from much of today's fluff found flowing through the radio waves. Hardluck Town is my personal favorite. Thank you Jake for keeping it real.
