ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Demolishing Boundaries - A City Sound Collection by Jakob Wolff

Demolishing Boundaries is a work about crossing boundaries into unknown territory. In a world where boundaries are set it seems important for me to cross them. The boundaries rank from very well known boundaries to more subjective boundaries. There are the official boundaries, like they are seen on a map. These boundaries can be crossed in a physical way. But there are a lot of other boundaries that are being crossed at the same time. Boundaries of the past that could not be crossed before are now gradually dissolving. Today these boundaries can be crossed as if they never existed.
But my work is not only about the boundaries, as we know them. It is also about inner boundaries. I am broadening my subjective boundaries with every step I take, with every experience I have. The sound collections are only a poor reflection of what my experiences are while travelling across many borders. But it is the best way to capture how I dive into new sonic environments gathering new ground and discovering endless possibilities.
Through my work I try to set an example of how free one can be. I want to show people that things that seem to be beyond reach can actually be reached. Even if this could mean that borders need to be redefined.
