Jimi, Randle Bramblet, Gov't Mule, The Allmans, The Dead...These are some of my favorites. I rank Jam Camp among them. In an age of supersonic pop-cultural snippets, often generated by computers, synthesizers and beat machines, I have found in Black Hills Jam a true soundscape through which to journey. Todays pop music has become a pretty face, a nice body, some power chords and an electronic drumb beat. For those who still prefer a genuine sensory experience, colored with contrast and peppered with the occasional eargasm, this is it. These guys converse without words. If you have suffered the diminished attention span typical of victims of contemporary pop music, these guys might just be the cure.

Best CD I have bought this year.

Forget 5 Stars. This is a masterful work by some very talented musicians. A CD like this hasn’t hooked me in some time and I buy lots of music. Band interplay in gigantic proportions. Solo’s going off in every direction and some real strong rhythm guitar. Add the sax to the mix and this CD is just plain out unbelievable. To top that off this CD runs a total of 69 minutes.

These guys are locked into one another and just let it flow...sometimes knocking you down with powerful jamming...then picking you up and sliding you into jazz inflected grooves. It reminds me of that west coast jam sound pioneered by bands like Zero. Sweet stuff for sure!
