She was born February 4th, 1977. She began her singing career at the age of 11 years old at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Since then she has had the opportunity to sing with various local groups. God has also placed her along side numerous national artist such as, Rev. Hezikiah Walker, Albertina Walker, Willie Neal Johnson and The Gospel Keynotes, Rev. James Moore, Ricky Dillard, Rev. Kirvy Brown, Elder Christopher Brinson, Otis Battles and the High Point Community Choir, Roderick Carter, Faith Evans, Luke Skywalker and the R&B group H-Town. She has also appeared on the Bobby Jones Gospel Show. Jamera recently made it through the first round picks of the "American Idol" auditions. She is currently a cast member of the play "The Black Nativity Gospel" and "Mahalia" for the National Black Theater Repertory Company, based in Winston Salem, North Carolina founded by Larry Leon Hemline.
Jamera is with the recording label Depha Entertainment, along with long time friend and producer Roderick Carter. Her very first debut album "Jamera", was released in spring of 2004. She does her own background singing as well as some writting.
