ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Award-winning songwriter, Jim Brentar, has put together a collection of his childrens songs, "Mr. Froggy And Mr. Bear." In 2011, Jim was a winner in the New Songs Showcase at the Walnut Valley Festival in the Childrens Songs category with "Sing A Silly Song." Jim has never lost has sense of silliness or his child-like way of looking at the world; and it shows in his songs about various critters ("Aug The Frog", "Mr. Froggy And Mr. Bear"), the fun and funny side of science ("32 Planets"), music and songwriting ("Sing A Silly Song", "I Tried To Write A Song"), and the wonderful gifts we've all been given ("Birthday Song/Earth Dance"). A versatile songwriter, he even takes old poetry in the public domain (William Wordsworth, "Daffodils") and traditional folk songs ("Comin' Round The Mountain") and uses original musical composition to give them a fresh and modern twist. Jim mixes traditional folk and bluegrass musical styles with pop, rock, dance, country and blues for an eclectic and unique style all his own.
