Album Notes

Ed James...just a guy on a mission to write the perfect song. He loves a hook...and believes that great melodies and harmonies make the world go 'round.

Mr. James began his music career at the age of 2, beating the crap out of pots and pans on the kitchen floor. He became the drummer of his first rock band when he was in the 5th grade. Fast forward to the present...and somewhere along the way, Ed earned degree in music, released several solo records, and has been featured on more than 2 dozen compilation and tribute CDs. Also, you may have recently heard Ed's songs on NBC, VH1, and MTV. "Ed James...in the 21st Century" is his brand-new solo record.

Ed's songwriting style is heavily inspired by his heroes, The PSWS - Perfect Song Writers Society: the Beatles, Jellyfish, Fountains Of Wayne, Jason Falkner, and Roger Joseph Manning, Jr.

Also a dynamic live performer, Ed has thrilled audiences at International Pop Overthrow music festivals in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia, as well as Sparklefest, a NC-based rock music event.

Candy for your ears!!!
author: Liz from Texas
You cannot frown listening to this music. Tight, bold and clean vocals. Swanky lyrics for all you kids! Fun to have on while at the beach in your restored Woodie or at home playing Twister and slamming a Buck Fizz. Party cd for sure................

A totally brilliant new release
author: Kool Kat Music
A totally brilliant new release from Ed that continues his high-end output of "what should be radio-friendly" 70's/80's-inspired pop rock that we (not-so) secretly yearn for! And he played almost everything on the disc himself! The songwriting is superb! Every song is a hookfest! "Star Trek Girl" would've/should've been a hit on both radio and MTV back in the day! Nice keyboard touches throughout too! The harmonies are a joy! The playing, especially the guitar-work (there's lots here), is top-notch throughout! The production is spot on! You've nailed it Ed, and have delivered your best yet! There's not a bad song on this one! How often can you say that? This IS Power Pop folks! Can't say enough about this one, certainly a legitimate, late entry for 2006 "Best Of" consideration!

Ed James rocks
author: Popbang Radio
One thing is for sure... Ed James rocks. On his 4th disk (along with numerous tribute CD contributions), James shows why he is considered by many (including popbang.com) as one of today's most vital indie power pop acts. "Miss Polly"'s lyrics borderline novelty, but are layered with crunchy guitars, thick harmonies, and a ton of melody. If you are a fan of late 70's, early 80's power pop (ie Rick Springfield, Nick Gilder, The States, The Rubinoos), and wonder what it would sound like in the 21st century, this is it. Ed James is the real deal, my friends.
