Twister People

by James E Konopasek

Twister People is an Americana folk song that describes the compassionate, heroic, individuals Jim has met in tornado country -- who he terms, "Extraordinary, Ordinary, People." Enjoy!

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
James E. Konopasek, Ph.D. is a criminologist and singer-songwriter who writes gutsy -- sometimes politically incorrect -- songs about human experience: real-life human tragedies, jails/prisons, crime, farm life, family, and the great outdoors. His first single release "Twister People," Copyright 2013, was inspired by a visit to Joplin, Missouri after the huge tornado there. He met incredible, resilient, down-to-earth, people on two trips to Missouri Southern State University -- where he teaches as an adjunct criminal justice professor. Twister People is about: Cowboy Rick (an expert horse training at Huckleberry Stables in Pineville), Painter Doug (an incredible artist living in the Ozarks who paints mostly in Native American themes), Cattleman Ken (a cattle rancher from Kansas City who treated us to great whiskey and hospitality at his home saloon in Pineville) and Chase (a young man working at the guitar shop in Joplin who is a meteorology major - twister chaser who played Taylor guitars with me at the shop). Enjoy my first single and look for my first album "Farms, Family & Friends" to be released in September 2013.
