Album Notes

James Meadows is a 29 year old singer/songwriter who lives in Abingdon, VA. He originally grew up an hours drive north of Abingdon deep in the Appalachian Mountains near Grundy, Virginia. James spent ten years in Johnson City, TN where he attended college (completing two degrees) and worked while honing his musical abilities. Here he was involved with the ETSU Bluegrass, Old Time, and Country Music program where he was able to play in many bands featuring top notch talent from all over the world. James played in many different band combinations performing both bluegrass and country music around the area for the past few years. He decided to go solo and began songwriting in 2005. James moved to Abingdon, VA in the Summer of 2007 and started working as an Intensive In Home Youth Counselor. James continued to play music and write his songs and in the Spring of 2008 he signed a publishing deal with Turning Leaves Publishing. From there he went on to form a partnership with several friends, and together they started "Dream Tree Records" an indie label backing his first album, titled "The Story of my Life". The recording was done in the Nashville studio of Skip Mitchell, former lead guitar player for The Oak Ridge Boys. Dream Tree Records has also recently produced a professional music video of the hit song "Candle on a Cupcake" from the new album that, James says, features a little girl who will break your heart. Anybody who can't wait to see the video on CMT can see it today on his website, www.jamesmeadows.net. James has also started a band called James Meadows & The Country Mile Drifters. The band is compiled of amazing professional musicians who put on a high energy show with a huge set list filled with classic country hits that are sure to blow the walls off of any dance hall. They are currently booking shows for 2009 and they are filling up fast so please contact James about availability. James Meadows is influenced by the Traditional Country styles (just to name a few) of Conway Twitty, Keith Whitley, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Dwight Yoakum, Marty Stuart, Randy Travis and Brad Paisley. James Meadows sincerely hopes his new radio listeners will like what they hear.

If you put this music into the player in the night cafe and put it not loud, It would be the perfect background for relaxation and deep feelings of missing USA. I enjoy this CD very much! Keep goin\' this way, James.

Lots of great songs on the CD, but I think a potential platinum title is "Candle on a Cupcake". It has the emotional appeal of Kenny Chesney's "I wonder who you'd be today" This song alone is worth buying the CD. Sample it on the play selection and you'll see what I mean.
