Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show said of Jamey Turner's playing of the glass harp, "That's beautiful...have you ever heard anything like that in your life? That is wonderful!" Charles Kuralt (On the Road, CBS News) said: "He is a joyous man who has found a way to spread joy." Many children have described what the sound of the glass harp makes them think of: weddings, angels singing, merry-go-rounds.
Jamey Turner's glass harp is made of sixty glasses of various sizes, with a range equivalent to the top half of a piano. He tunes them with
water, then with wet fingers circles the rims to play the notes. He plays as many as six glasses at a time. Some people say the sound
reminds them of an organ, others say a viola or a violin, still others, a flute. Some even say the glass harp sounds like a whole orchestra!
