SONGS ABOUT AUTISM AND FAMILIES
The album What Remains chronicles the lives of parents raising children with autism. It was written to raise awareness of the chronic emotional and financial stress that accompanies an autism diagnosis, and to rally support for increased health insurance coverage for autism, enforceable special education laws, and national standards of care and certification for autism professionals.
A WAY TO EDUCATE FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND PROFESSIONALS
Through my own experience, I appreciate how hard it can be for your friends and family to understand the amount of stress you deal with every day. This can also be true for the professionals who work with your child. That's why I wrote these songs - to provide a sense of validation for parents and to give them a way to educate their inner circle about the overwhelming emotional, financial, and social stress that accompanies an autism diagnosis.
"Dear Jamie: Well, I finally found the time and space to be able to listen to my copy of What Remains...I slipped the CD into my player not knowing what to expect. Out poured a river of the most beautiful heartfelt music...And I cried as your songs brought forth my own deep love for my beautiful Spectrum child and my longing for an easier life for her. I'll be buying several more copies for friends and relatives."

Wow! Loved "What Remains
author: TobiusI am a live in care aide for a special needs lady, she is on the autism spectrum as well as other issues.. I just loved this music, it may have been written by a father for his son, and it might be mainly for parents with special children, but this was so beautiful, it is great for any one dealing with a person, child or adult with autism and or special needs.. Way to go, super CD..

Wonderful!
author: Erica FletcherThis album spoke very powerfully to me. I am a parent of an Autistic child and every song reflected a piece of my life... Some made me smile and laugh, some made me cry. All of them felt like I was hearing from a friend who really understood what I was feeling on so many levels. Amazing. I love this entire CD, especially the upbeat "What Remains" and the heartfelt "You Are Welcome Here"
It's as though Mr. Manning has been with me while on my journey...
author: Leslie HughesWhen I listen to this CD, it's as though Mr. Manning has been with me while on my journey as a parent of a child on the autism spectrum. His music is incredibly personal; if it's possible to convey all of the emotions autism brings to one's life, this CD does it. I would give this CD to anyone who knows someone, has family, or works with a child with autism. It offers a perspective that seems to be shared only by those who have truly been on the inside. Love it!
Great cd. I can certainly relate to it. My favorite is track #1.
