Album Notes

Meeting place is a eclectic blend of traditional folk, rock and country blues combined into a wonderful life brew that encompasses life, death, love and the stories of a self proclaimed balladeer and songwriter. Meeting place takes the listener on a journey from the windswept Highlands of Jamie’s ancestral home in Laggan and Badenoch with the heartfelt track ‘Dail Chuinnidh’, to the city streets of Adelaide’s Rundle Mall with his rollicking tune ‘I Don’t Care’. Jamie’s vocals are deep and rich, displaying a life well lived and heart well travelled. Jamie’s debut CD Meeting Place offers the listener pause for thought, as well as cause to stomp the foot. Jamie's musical arrangements move from the sweeping emotional highs and lows to good old fashioned rock and roll. From the first look at the Jamie’s debut CD Meeting Place with its rich colours and evocative landscapes, you know you’re in for a diverse and colourful listen. So turn it up and settle down. Let Jamie tell you a story and be prepared to be carried along on with his unique and original music.

"A very personal cocktail of blues, rock and folk..." - Paolo Caru

"On the one hand the sound of the wide open space, reminiscent of the The Triffids, on the other, a passionate approach reminiscent of Kim Salmon, both confirming his authentic Australian roots" - John Gjaltema, altcountry.nl

"As quickly as I put it in I took it out to make sure I hadn’t mixed it up with a new Leonard Cohen release, but no - definitely Jamie" - H.W.Bones, Music SA
