Jamie Meyer Biography

The story... So far

NRJ Radio Award & Rockbjornen nominated Jamie Meyer was born in Gothenburg, Sweden on August 31, 1980. Jamie started playing music at the age of 17 when his Grandfather gave him his first guitar. During these early years of Jamie's career, he played in school cafeterias and performed at other high school functions. After recording his first demo in 1998 Jamie received great reviews from the local newspaper "The Gothenburg Post". This helped put Jamie's name on the map in his hometown and gave him the confidence to become a fulltime singer/songwriter.

In 2002 Jamie flew to America for the first time. He spent six months in Chicago and in his own words explains "I played anywhere I could find a microphone and a stage." After his experience in America, Jamie returned to Sweden prepared to face the record industry.

Jörgen Elofsson, Phil Thornalley & Bryan Adams

Back home in Sweden Jamie featured on the Swedish television show Popstars which was a great success. In 2003 Jamie released his debut album "Its All About Me" with SonyBMG Music. Jamie worked with creative minds Bryan Adams, Phil Thornalley, and Jörgen Elofsson co-writing his album. This is how Jamie met one of his biggest influences of all time, Bryan Adams. With their input Jamie recorded hits "Never Again" & "Don't Even Go There" on his Sony album. After excellent sales, national tours, award nominations, and great media-coverage, Sony and Jamie became interested in exploring different markets. Despite this his friendships with Bryan, Phil, and Jörgen still remain the same to this day.

In 2004 Jamie performed at a Swedish Showcase in NYC still trying to pursue his dreams. In 2005 Jamie traveled to Austin, Texas to work on his music with his good friend Dino Pucci. Together they booked several shows, interviews, and live performances on Austin's famous rock station KLBJ. During his stay in Austin Jamie spent time writing new music including co-writing songs over the internet with Håkan Mjornheim, Mats Hedstrom, and Phil Thornalley. Jamie also traveled to England to record song tracks written by Bryan Adams and Phil Thornalley. While in Austin Jamie received several offers from record labels in Texas and California but he was still searching his options.

Focus on the World

For any of you who like some acoustic music in their iPod/CD player/whatever, this stuff's awesome. Favorite track on it's either Everytime or Summertime, whichever time you pick you won't be disappointed.
