Album Notes

Little Rock, Arkansas’ “Jampire” is the by-product of Dessalines Agginie’s sociopolitical horrorcore and Paige and Jason “Mad Trucker” Harrington’s vision of hard-hitting post-industrial dance beats dominated by sharp synthesizers, odd sound effects, and metal guitar (courtesy of recently deceased Little Rock legends Mike Tustison and Bobby Redd). The album also features guest vocals on one song by Ill Chemist (Bru Records) and a wealth of turntablism courtesy of Matt “DJ Counteract” Harrington (Audioreliks).

It’s worth noting Dessalines background; he is a British citizen who has lived in the Southern US most of his life where he has spent phases listening to down south rap, then east coast rap, and now mostly industrial metal. He was born of a South American mother and an African father. Early in the process of making this album he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis which you might say caused him to drop out of law school, but also fueled the urgency of the messages he puts forth in this album. These lyrical messages range from absurd seemingly death obsessed lines like “…we’ll have sex with skeletons” to the biting honesty of lines like “1984 has come true” (referencing the science fiction novel written by George Orwell). Each of these lines is delivered on stage with the same stoic facial expression, only occasionally exposing playfulness beneath his iron clad demeanor.
