Jamundo is an eclectic acoustic band from Charlotte, NC., that blends old world rhythms and scales with the free improvisational style of jam bands like The Grateful Dead. The name comes from the two most important elements of their music - "Jam" (for improvisation) and "mundo" (for world music).

The band currently consists of two members - Dennis Shearin and Kirk Lohry. Their influences include African, Middle Eastern, Caribbean, South/Central American, Celtic, and rock. The repertoire Includes a wide range of World Music, free improvisations and originals.
