BIO -
Singer/songwriter Jane Ford, has come a long way since getting her start as the house piano player at a comedy club when she was just 16,playing for such people as Sandra Bernhard and Jim Carrey.
She has played clubs in New York, Toronto, and Los Angeles. Including sold out shows at The Duplex in New York and The Gardenia in L.A. and even started her own club in Toronto called "The Queen's Bedroom" which featured performers as diverse as Jane Siberry and Ru Paul.
Jane has also written songs for movies, television and the stage. She has written the theme songs for 4 popular Canadian television series("The Broad Side," CBC Television, "Behind The Scenes," CTV/ The Comedy Network, "Listen Missy" W Network, Australia's Comedy Network,) including one which has been seen and heard in over 40 countries and won Canada's version of the Emmy.
Jane wrote the songs for the Off Broadway show "Out in America" which starred Daryl Hannah and Stephen Baldwin. And she wrote the songs for the play "By Your Side" at The Rivoli in Toronto, and in which she also co-starred alongside Keanu Reeves.
Jane has co-written with "Kids in the Hall" Bruce McCulloch, a song called "Brucie's Happy World" for his 1996 television special and even had a song of hers sung by Monkee Mickey Dolenz, on the Fox TV series "Monty."
More recently two of Jane's songs were featured in the MGM released film "I Love You, Don't Touch Me." Performed by Marla Shaffel, who went on to star on Broadway in the title role in "Jane Eyre."
And her song "This Town" was featured in the Greenie Films documentary "Tina Paulina, Living on Hope Street." A hit at Outfest 2005.
Last year, Jane wrote a series of Musicals for CBC Television called "The 30 Minute Musical."
