notes
Jane likes heavy swing and cool, uptown blues. Her lyrics simply tell the truth, yet maintain meter and rhyme. On her recent Christmas CD, The Spirit of Giving, she combines blues and jazz elements. She has fresh, original, holiday tunes that sound like standards. Her CD features 8 original tunes and 4 hipped-up Christmas standards with 4 – 6 piece arrangements. The musicians include notable Los Angeles session players: Pete Snell on guitar, Stuart Elster and Alan Steinberger on keyboards, Randy Landas and Armando Compean on bass, Rod Harbour and Lee Spath on drums, Lee Thornburg on trumpet and flugelhorn, Tom Peterson and Steve Marsh on saxophones, Scott Breadman on percussion, and Billy Hulting on vibraphone.
Her previous CD, You’re Coming Back Again, has received airplay on WTIP–FM in Minnesota and KETR-FM in Texas, and KDVS in Davis, California. She did a radio interview with Mario Robles for his show, Mario’s Blues Thang on KDVS. She also interviewed on the air with Jim Motavalli on WPKN in Connecticut. She was a semi-finalist in the 2004 Long Beach Jazz Search for the female jazz vocalist category. Recently, she was a featured guest on the TV show, Question Reality, which aired nationally. Her song, “Gonna Cause Trouble,” was featured in a national cable TV show, The Shield, in 2006.
Bruce Crowther wrote in the Jazz Journal International,
“Jane Fuller is a good songwriter.”
Jim Santella wrote in All About Jazz,
“…easy to like. Not one to copy, Fuller carries her singing and songwriting beyond established boundaries. Her original pieces take contemporary aim at the jazz singing repertoire. Coy and cool, the singer interprets with homespun vitality.”

Superb!
author: Jonathan BernsteinJane Fuller's originals are a delight. With so little new holiday music available, this is a "must add" to your collection. Even her renditions of some classic Christmas carols are delightfully different than anything I've heard. You don't have to be a jazz lover (I'm not, generally) to love Jane's music.
Great perspective
author: leslie fluegelJane Fuller's songs bring a new perspective to Christmas music ! Soulful and jazzy and just very enjoyable !
Confidence, Class & Style
author: Martin Johns...And as cozy as curling up in front of the fireplace on a cold Christmas Eve, in your favorite chair, wrapped in your favorite afghan with a cup of hot cocoa (with marshmellows)! If you like sultry jazz vocals in a "3 am" kind of mood, this will become your new favorite Christmas CD. The standards sound fresh and the originals sound like future standards. Can't wait to hear more.
