Janelle was born in New Jersey and moved to California six years ago to pursue the arts. She is a songwriter, poet,fiction writer, journalist, yogi, and musician. Her debut CD, Heart Attack Splash is a collection of personal songs accompanied with sometimes sparse musical accompaniment parts and other times a full production with guitar, bass, and drums. Her vocals are her strong suit ranging from belty alto parts to soaring soprano solos with her classically trained voice. The lyrics are poetic, complex, and intriguing with catchy melodies that are sure to engage an open ear. She has been compared to Tori Amos, Kate Bush, and Sara McLachlan with a unique twist and a sound of her own.
