The debut release from guitarist/composer Jane Miller features 8 original compositions and two jazz standards uniquely arranged.
The Jane Miller group is Jane Miller-guitars, Tim Ray-piano, Bob Simonelli-bass, and Don Kirby-drums.
They are joined here by very special guests Mili Bermejo-vocals, Mick Goodrick-guitar, Patty Larkin-vocals, Ken LaRoche-flute, percussion, co-producer, and Cercie Miller-saxophone.
"Her signature sound, which she delivers with a venerable hollow-body instrument, is bell-clear, well crated, and showcases a keen melodic sense...She avoids the formatting boredom of many jazz records by writing in different styles and tempos. Her years of acoustic work have also helped make her a fine ensemble player, comping thoughtfully and filling tastefully as needed." - (William Tandy Young, The Blues Wire. 3 1/2 stars, New England Performer Magazine.)

if you want to be sweetly reminded why you love Emily Remler's music, Postcard is a must have for the collection. It would be an insult to say Jane sounds like this person or that person, because in truth, Jane Miller's sound is like all great players, unique only to herself.
but, If you like the smooth and rhythmic elements of Emily's style, indulge yourself on, Neighborhood, Falling in Love With Love or Postcart.
or if you enjoy the dreamy components of Metheny's wonder board, Jane has that too, check out Where's Saturn or Get Your Own Drummer. they will leave you forlorn for every note Jane has committed to disk. she's as seasoned and polished and brilliant as they come.
i started with only this first cd, but bought them all before the first song could even finish playing. it's been a long time since an artist unknown to me has dealt an impact such as this. i don't know where i've been that i wasn't aware of her name before, but she went to number one on my ipod playlist immediately. thanks Jane, for all this wonderful new-to-me music. i'm flying through the clouds listening to Waltz Of The Oversoul right now. beautiful.
